Who was Jewel?
Although Jewel Levine was my grandmother, she was also one of most inspirational and selfless individuals I have ever met. My Grandmother had kidney failure in her late 60’s and decided not to have a kidney transplant. For over 15 years she had to endure dialysis treatment 3 days a week. She called dialysis treatment, her “day at the spa”!
During this period Jewel faced many problems and complications however she was a lady that never complained, she taught me so much and always provided me with hope. She sadly passed away in 2013 but we hope to pass on her persevering spirit through our foundation and help those who truly need it to allow them to keep persevering in whatever fight they may be battling. In honor of Grandma Jewel, we keep fighting!
